So, dear YYZ what should I wear to an evening of Burlesque?
Tonight I'm going to finally make it to a Burlesque evening. As it turns out it's the the 2009 London Burlesque Festival which seems to mean that there are bigger venues and even more shows. I'm planning on going to one at Scala for *new comers*. I'm rather excited.Photo by Ian Muttoo
So as you can tell it is a big venue and the evening goes from 8-3am. Realistically that will mean midnightish for me :)
Try to remember my wardrobe and give me some guidance dear YYZ. I need your help but actually I need your wardrobe because I KNOW you would have some fab outfits.
PS I noticed on the London Burlesque Festival website that it is sponsored by Secrets in Lace. (they would be apalled by my undies)

First of all, let me say that I AM SOOO JEALOUS! Secondly, burlesque is the place to show your cleavage, LHR, my dear. I say the grey dress you wore to the weddings, with darkish opaque tights and those killah patent, ribbon-tie Mary Janes. (Take an aspirin before you go to mitigate the foot-torture inherent in the wearing of those shoes. Take back-up aspirin in handbag in case ensuing cocktails do not numb the pain adequately.) Maybe top with a groovy cropped jacket.
DID I MENTION THAT I AM BURNING WITH JEALOUSY??? I was planning to invite the Yorkshire Lass & her fella out bowling.... Even rock'n'bowl pales in comparison to a Burlesque Fest! Have fun!
OK, that website for Secrets in Lace is brilliant! A bizarre mix of tacky and enticing-- I MUST get myself a crinoline or two! I keep looking for them here, but can't find any I like...
Also, women of today have it all wrong: if we could all wear undies like those slinky girdle thingies, we'd all look like goddesses. I say, to hell with spanx, bring back the old-fashioned girdle! (how fun would that be in July here in YYZ?)
